If the families fight to protect their homes, will the Mossad shoot them and claim self defense?
- U.S.: East Jerusalem demolitions undermine trust vital for Israel-PA talks
Jerusalem municipal planning committee approves plan to demolish 22 Palestinian homes in the Silwan neighborhood of East Jerusalem to make room for a tourist center.
U.S. State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley said Israel’s decision on Monday to raze 22 Palestinian homes in East Jerusalem is the kind of step that undermines trust fundamental to progress in the proximity talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.
The Jerusalem municipal planning committee approved Monday a contentious plan to raze 22 Palestinian homes to make room for a tourist center that Palestinians fear would tighten Israel’s grip on the city’s contested eastern sector.
The plan, which affects the neighborhood of Silwan in East Jerusalem, risks more U.S.-Israeli friction just two weeks ahead of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s meeting with U.S. President Barack Obama…

I don’t know, is there a donation fund for this tourist center though?

Probably as many as Palestinian rockets will destroy Israeli homes.

What a bigoted question with all the hateful misrepresenation of the situation.
Those homes were illegally built on public land without permits. And Mossad is like the CIA, not some evil conspiracy group.
From the last two ridiculous times this was asked & misrepresented:

Those homes were built on Public land without permits – so it’s not theirs to sit on.
They will be allowed to rebuild elsewhere in the same development. The funding is still being worked out.
Pathetically written article that you got this from that vilifies Israel with careful "presentation of the facts" so you don’t notice the KEY fact that these were illegal houses to begin with:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/ml_israel_palestinians
"The prime minister’s office said Netanyahu "hopes that since this project is only in a preliminary stage, that the dialogue can continue with those who have built homes on public land and it will be possible to find an agreed solution in accordance with the law."
"Although Israel claims it is simply enforcing the law by knocking down illegally built structures, many of the unauthorized homes have gone up because Palestinians have a hard time obtaining construction permits in east Jerusalem."
Importantly on this — they have no more trouble getting permits than Jews do. Israel’s beuracracy is as impossible as Italy’s. The Jews tend to wait until they finally get permits. The Arabs don’t bother going legal. THAT’s a commonly known fact & issue in Israel.
It’s a debate WITHIN Israel how to handle East Jerusalem. But get real, Palestinians were offered it with Oslo & answered with 5 years of intifada war, murdering Israeli civilians on every street corner with bombs.
To answer to another answerer from that question:
They are substandard incompleted homes (which is done to avoid having to pay property taxes). This has nothing to do with "there for generations." Arabs 75% came AFTER the Jews & Jews were a majority in Jerusalem itself in most of the years before Israel was formed.
