On some of these jobs I actually turned off the main water supply to the house. I’ve seen several houses flooded in no time from one of those lines busting open in the attic! The flow is two to three times what you get through a typical garden house tuened on full blast because this is 3/4″ ID.

I assume that YOU did not install the condensate drains that you complained about? The reason why the flow of water is so great from a sprinkler pipe is because it comes into the house on a separate pipe from the domestic water. This fire line does not go through a pressure regulator or a water meter as your domestic water does. Turning off the domestic water line to the house would do nothing for the firesprinklers.
I agree that the pipe could have been better protected from breakage.

1) Why would I complain about something I installed?

2) You know not what you speak of. These are tied into the HOME DOMESTIC WATER.
If the gate valve that turns off the main home water WORKS (doesn’t brake, stick, etc) it also stops the fire sprinkler feed.

You are 100% WRONG about how these sprinklers are designed here.

They are CRACKER JACK installed here. Thus why I posted the videos when I sued to work on some residential.
