Is it possible for a home builder to purchase a windmill/turbine or some other device to produce electricty?

I am interested in building a new home and would like to explore other options for electricity/power for my new home. The reason I ask is because I want to build in a rural area. Possibly somewhere where the electic lines cant get to. If anyone knows of a website or a product name, I would appreciate it.

I had looked into this idea a few months ago. I’ve scene prices from around $8,000 to $50,000. Much depends on the type of tower you erect.

I had decided that if I went this route, I’d combine it with solar power & batteries.
