I’m getting a new job soon and currently live in a house, but I would like to rent a house where I move to. A lot of homeowners are renting now in the market, but do brokers or real estate agents help you find homes to rent? I’ve never heard of that, but maybe they do?
We have used real estate agents to help us find rental properties each time we have had to move to a new State and have never been charged. The property agents may pay them for the referral. We have also then used the same agent to find our new home so in the end they get paid by us. When you are new to an area, it’s best to have a local direct you to the best location for you. Websites don’t talk to the quality of the area the rental is in. That is too big a risk.

yeah you can use a real estate agent, but if I were you I’d find a rental without. . . most apartment rental sites also have houses for rent. Also try the local newspaper’s classified ads
here are some sites to help you:
rent.com
housesforrent.ws
rentspeed.com

Some real estate agents handle rentals, as do property management companies. The fees are usually paid by the property owners.

I don’t know what country you live in but in Australia real estates do not charge a tenant for helping them find a rental. The landlord of the rentals are charged a fee for the services the real estate provides. The real estates job is to keep tenants in all their rentals otherwise the landlord will change to a real estate that will. You will have to pay a bond of 4 weeks rent which you get back when you move providing no damage has been done to the property. you will also have to pay your rent 2 weeks in advance. Good Luck and if you don’t live in Australia, disregard every thing I said as I wouldn’t have a clue. LOL

Yes and the fee charged is the equivalent of one or two months rent.
This is a good way to go especially if you are unfamiliar with the area.
you can specify a quiet street, near schools and church or any other requirements you need. let them do the leg work and narrow it down, email you what they think works and you can go out and look at just one or two.
