What is the ratio of vacant foreclosed homes to homeless people?

The number of bank ceased homes to those persons with no homes if expressed as a ratio —

3 homeless peoples per 1 house ?

4 houses per homeless person ?

A lot of homeless have lost their homes and it is not economically feasible to let them move into an empty foreclosed home.

It is a grand gesture but someone else owns these homes and we need to be fair to all people.

How many "empty" apartments are there? Why not move homeless to apartment? Many more could be accommodated.

With the house come a host of other problems like utilities.
Who would pay for these?
What about transportation?
How would they get to the grocery store?
How would they find work?
At least apartments are usually on the bus line.
Apartments are easier to be all utilities included. Less of a strain on tax payers.

What is a kit home? How are they different from other homes?

Weve been looking at transportable homes, modular homes and kit homes. How do kit homes differ from other homes?

Kit homes use prefabricated materials. Most are steel framed which can be erected easily and quickly. However, steel has developed so much in recent years, that steel framed "kits" are better quality than traditional timber frames. A lot of luxury homes use steel framed "kits".

How does a foster home system work? (NOT FOR FOSTER PARENTS, the kids in the homes.)?

My mom threatened to put me in a foster home.
I just wanted to know how it works for the kids.

What are the steps of the foster home for the kid? What will happen when children’s aid gets you? Where will they bring you?

And are the homes usually in the same area of the previous schools?

No, they will NOT place you in the same school. you will stay in the same state, but that is about it.

You live with foster families like any other family. You will receive counseling, and your parents will be able to visit you at least twice a month.

Nursing homes that a 16 year old can volunteer in the northern suburbs of Chicago?

I want to volunteer at a nursing home this summer! I was just wondering if it’d be possible for me to visit a nursing home a few times a week and talk to the people there, since I know a lot of them are lonely, and maybe sing or read to them. Would this be possible, and which nursing homes would allow that?

Sure. I know of one, called Covenant Village in Northbrook. Others I’m sure will have you as well. I suggest you work with ones that are, or were, affiliated with a church denomination if you can.

These days they are called "assisted living facilities," "extended care facilities," or "skilled nursing facilities," depending on the support services their residents need. Many places have multiple kinds of facilities under the same roof.

Are you part of a congregation? If so, speak to your clergy person and ask for suggestions. That may be an excellent entry point. If that doesn’t work, call a nearby place and ask to speak to the chaplain, and find out details. I think hospitals will also have you. You may need to be in a training program.

PLEASE remember something. This was something my supervisor said to me when I was an intern chaplain in a hospital. You are not bringing God into the resident’s room. God is already in the room.

You’d be wise to expect to learn a lot, and have your life changed, by the people you visit. Just because they’re living in a place where they get help does not mean they are mentally helpless: they are wise elders who have seen a lot.

Can I live/drive to two homes while under limited driving privileges to home and work?

If you have a suspended license in Ohio for OVI conviction and the court gives you limited driving privileges to work and home, can you stay at two homes? Like home and your partners place? Or are you only limited to what address you give them?
To clarify it’s going to and from work to one house one night and another residence another night after work.

I know that people selling homes for a builder make pretty decent money. I have a real estate license and they usually don’t want you to have one but I only use it for apartment locating not selling homes but still deal with clients constantly. Will they make me put my license inactive. What is the best approach to landing a job such as this?

You would have to have your license under whatever broker they contract with. They can not sell them without a license, it is illegal.
