WRAP (Work Readiness Achievement Program) is an educational program sponsored by Strengthen Our Sisters (a 501c3, not-for-profit organization) in cooperation with The CompuLearning Center and the New Jersey Department of Labor. WRAP provides a creative after-school and summer learning environment to help high school youth -- particularly those facing barriers to employment -- acquire information and gain the skills, work experience, and abilities they need to make a successful transition to the workplace. Participants will work with adult mentors to explore their own ideas, develop skills, and build confidence in themselves through the use of technology, mentoring, and tutoring. The program is intended to guide students toward self-sufficiency and beyond, enabling them to function independently, as well as interdependently within the community, and to encourage and motivate them toward lifelong learning. |
