Im trying to find a distributor that specializes in selling appliances such as bathtubs, stove tops, etc for assisted living (senior homes). If anyone has any info for me it would be greatly appreciated.
note: I dont need it for myself. Im a realtor and im trying to convert a building.
You should be able to get information from a home health care provider on how to get assistance from the government and be able to get appliances, etc. free or for little money. If you call a home health care company, you can just get the informaiton to the goverment offices that help with this sort of thing. My neighbor did this and got a new fridge free because her social security wouldn’t cover it but she was able to get what she needed for free. Good Luck.
Where can I find appliances for assisted living homes?
How do prefabricated homes get proper plumbing and electric?
I am looking into purchasing a prefabricated home, not a manufactured or mobile home, the type you can put together yourself. I have briefly researched these types of homes online to get more information. However I still have a couple of questions. How is the plumbing and electric installed? Is that included with the house or is it an added expense and something you have to do on your own?
Manda Panda, quite a few of my neighbors&friends have purchased prefabricated homes and they are very happy with their choices,we are looking to do the same.Ask the manufacturer the specifics of your question they would be better informed to give you a better answer.Good luck with your new venture.
do home builders have a projected time to complete a neighborhood?
I was wondering if home builders have a deadline or set a projected date to complete a neighborhood that they are building?
I mean my neighborhood has been open years. I mean it still has open lots to build on. It cannot stay open forever, right? lol.. I mean, they would want to start building spec homes and selling those eventually I would think.
Yes, the date is part of the building permit.
Many build in stages, some some lots will not be touched for years.
Also, MANY builders went belly up last year, construction stopped.
Can I collect on a structural home warranty if my builder has filed for bankruptcy?
My house is 5 years old and I have a 10 year structural warranty. My home builder filed for bankruptcy 2 years ago. I have to have a beam in my basement, across my foundation that needs to be re-adjusted/re-set. How can I go after my old bankrupt builder to use my 10 year structural warranty, so I don’t have to pay for this work myself?
Yea see

Does anyone have any experience with modular homes (not doublewides) ?
I am considering building a home. Modular homes are initially attractive. Good? Bad? Indifferent? Any specific advice about them verses a stick-built home?
Pay the extra money and get a modular home built with 2 by 6’s not 2 by 4’s. Also the real problem with modular homes is that companies usually offer subpar fixtures and appliances. You are paying for the house so demand them to upgrade the tub and sinks or give you a discount and go buy your own. I have 4 friends that have bought modular homes and placed them on their properties. the 2 older homes (one 5 years old and one 7 years old) have had no problems with the structures themselves but both homes came with cheap sink basins and tubs / whirpools which cracked and stained just after a couple years so they ended up replacing them. Good luck!
What would happen if the government took all the stimulus and bailout money and spent it all on new homes?
Like they spent over a trillion dollars building new homes and dumping them on the market.
Gotta admit it would be interesting to see.
It sounds like you mean, what if the government just gave away a trillion dollars worth of houses.
Well, you’d make existing homeowners pretty mad because that would trash the value of everybody’s house.
You’d have a bunch of people moving in, and then what happens when they can’t afford to pay their property taxes. Oops.
And you’d make all future generations mad because they will end up paying taxes to repay the borrowed trillion dollars to give away houses to somebody else.
You’d make a few people really happy, until the tax assessor forecloses on them and they get evicted for non-payment of taxes.
And you’d make a lot more people really really angry.

Is it safe for home health providers especially women to treat patients in their homes? How safe is it?
What precautions as as a woman can one take? I have heard about some rape incidents with women in the real estate business when they meet strangers to view homes for sale.
I am a nutritional consultant and although I consult with doctor’s offices, I have many people that call me at home. I do not have people come to my home unless I already know them. You are asking for problems. Maybe if you knew someone else would be there but I don’t want everyone I consult with knowing where I live either. I would think about a small office you could rent…
